Ben Andrews is board certified as a specialist in civil trial law by the Florida Bar, maintaining that distinction since 2003. He is also admitted to practice in the State of Georgia. He practices in the areas of professional malpractice defense with an emphasis on insurance agents and brokers, construction defect litigation, insurance coverage disputes, product liability, and general insurance defense. He has an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review rating system, which represents the highest level of professional excellence for ethical standards and legal ability.
Ben received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Florida in 1985. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Florida State University College of Law with honors in 1988. Beginning in 1988, Ben served as a law clerk to Judge Maurice M. Paul, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Florida. Since 1989, Ben has defended many professionals, business owners, individuals, and corporate entities in all types of liability claims in federal and state courts throughout Florida and south Georgia.
Christopher W. Heidrick, CPCU, ANFI, CFP® is the Founder of Heidrick & Company Insurance in Sanibel, Florida, and Trusted Flood, a wholesale insurance brokerage.
An industry leader, Chris is Chair of the Flood Insurance Sub-committee for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA), Past Chair of the Flood Insurance Producers National Committee (FIPNC), and a past Board Member for the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA). He has also testified before Congress on the topic of flood insurance.
Locally, Chris has served as Chairman of the Sanibel and Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce, Vice-Chairman of the City of Sanibel Planning Commission, and on several non-profit Boards.
Chris holds a B.S. in Economics from Pennsylvania State University.
Joining Arden Insurance in 1999, after a successful career in retail department store management, Robert was quickly recognized as the local insurance nerd and advocate for the Independent Agency system. Tireless in his efforts to promote the value of Independent Agents, Robert freely shares his industry knowledge, positive perspective and leadership with clients, colleagues and the public. Appearing on numerous TV news stories, speaking at events, assisting teaching with FAIA classes, webinars, YouTube Videos and other local CE classes are a few of Robert’s pastimes. Robert has also provided Expert Witness testimony for E & O cases.
Currently, Robert is President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Palm Beach County (since 2009), Chairman of Palm Beach State College Business & Risk Management Advisory Board, member of Citizens Property Insurance Agent Advisory RoundTable, Chair of FAIA Workforce Development Committee, Member of City of West Palm Beach Watershed – Flood Plain Management Committee, and member of 2018 FAIA Nominating Committee.
Robert received his B.S. Business Administration from The University of Florida and holds licenses to sell Property & Casualty, Life Health Annuities, Real Estate and Notary Public. He currently holds designations from the Insurance Institute of America: Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI), Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) for personal and commercial insurance.
Robert also volunteers at numerous community groups, non-profits as well as his daughter’s schools. Habitat for Humanity, Lake Worth High School Dollars for Scholars, Marine Corp Toys for Tots & Komen Race for the Cure, The Kings Academy, Parent Council President and Board of Trustee member of Palm Beach Day Academy, BAK Middle School of the Arts Foundation, University of Florida Alumni Foundation, Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity, The Gator Club of the Palm Beaches & Progressive’s Keys to Progress Veterans Events.
Robert is a native of West Palm Beach area where he enjoys golf, scuba diving, the beaches, living the Florida Lifestyle and is an avid Gator fan.
David is an insurance nerd, presenting continuing education seminars on a variety of subjects and writing technical articles and blogs on topics of interest to agents. David graduated from Mercer University and served seven years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard. He started his insurance career in a family-owned independent agency in Vero Beach, where he sold all types of insurance. He retired from FAIA in 2020 and continues to consult with the association.
Pete Travis brings 31 years in the homeowner and flood insurance business, mainly in the Florida and southeastern markets. He is a past president of the Independent Insurance Agents of the Palm Beaches.
He has managed several WYO programs and has been recognized by FEMA/NFIP for policy growth. He was Director of Client Growth for Torrent Technologies, Inc., and has assisted a number of companies in developing and implementing their own WYO programs. He is currently Director of Marketing for Fountain Group Adjusters.
